Pepe the Kind Frog and the Sunny Pond Day

This is the story of Pepe the Kind Frog, and the sunny pond day. Pepe lives in a quiet green pond. Lily pads float like little boats. Dragonflies glimmer in the sun. And right in the middle is Pepe's favorite warm rock. Pepe is a gentle frog. He likes to sit, and watch the clouds drift by. When the sun is out, and his friends are nearby, he says, feels good, man. One morning, the pond is extra quiet. Pepe's friend, Dot the duckling, has lost her favorite yellow leaf. She uses that leaf as a tiny boat. Dot is sad, and she will not even quack. Pepe does not rush. He does not tease. He hops from pad to pad, and he looks very carefully. He asks the tadpoles, did you see a yellow leaf float by? He asks a turtle sunning on a log. He even checks under his own warm rock, just in case. Then they find it. The yellow leaf is stuck in some tall reeds. Pepe gently tugs the leaf free, and he gives it back to Dot. Dot smiles. Then Pepe, Dot, and the turtle spend the afternoon floating, racing leaves, and sharing a picnic of sweet pond weeds. At sunset, Pepe sits on his rock. The pond is noisy with happy sounds again. He looks at his friends, and he says the same thing he always says, when everything is right. Feels good, man.
